Essential IP Seminars

Don’t let copyright give you a fright!

Intellectual property laws apply to all aspects of local government and non-profit operations.  Not only does infringement of third-party IP represent a material organisational risk, it is also crucial to ensure that the IP created or procured by your organisation is safeguarded and able to be used for its intended purpose.

In this truly digital age, protecting IP and protecting against IP infringement is of crucial importance and an essential skill for professionals working in local government and for non-profits to possess.

Kelledy Jones Lawyers is pleased to announce our Essential IP Seminars which are designed to provide you with the essential knowledge to feel confident in dealing with all aspects of IP.

Session 1 – Avoiding IP Infringement

This session is for governance, development, compliance, information management and similar professionals who review, reproduce, work with and otherwise use third party IP.   If you deal with FOI applications or other forms of information requests, write agenda reports, review plans, specifications, technical details and similar documents for developments, publish documents on websites, social media and/or through community emails, bulletins and publications, this session is for you!

In this session, we will explain how to identify when a document is protected by IP laws, how and when infringements can arise.  We will provide you with detailed knowledge and effective strategies to avoid infringing IP laws in the work that you do.

Session 2 – Safeguarding IP

This session is for marketing, creative, promotions, community services, economic development and similar professionals.  If you are responsible for producing promotional material, banners, logos, advertisements, banners, branding, hosting events and similar, this session is for you!
